Clarins 3-Dot Liner

When I first saw this eyeliner I thought it was going to be a total gimmick, but I’ve fallen head-over-heels with it in the past few weeks so I thought it was something I must share with you all!

Clarin’s ‘3 Dot Liner’ isn’t like anything else I’ve seen on the market… (a bit of goggling has proven me wrong on this… there are a few about but no easily accessible ones!) It’s a liquid eyeliner pen with not one, but three points. The idea behind it being that you can draw very fine dots all along your lash line, creating the illusion of much thicker lashes.
As I said above, I thought this was going to be a total gimmick but it actually works a treat! It’s perfect for those who don’t like wearing eyeliner at all, but still want their lashes to look full and luscious… or if you’re a fan of voluminous lashes but no mascara is ever quite enough? This could be your answer!

I’ve been wearing it everyday with my current favourite MAC eyeshadows (Orb, Naked Lunch, Sable & Espresso) and I think it makes the perfect addition to the classic neutral eye. What do you think?

Just Eyeshadow
With 3-Dot Liner
...and Mascara!
It's actually more impactful from a distance, but i didn't take a snap (sorry!), but i hope this gives you an idea of how it works?

I know that some of you will be thinking “OK, this is cool, but why couldn’t I just do this with my normal liquid eyeliner?” True… You could, but it would take you (literally!) three times as long. This is so easy and quick to do, if you like the look I say it’s well worth it!

You can also create some quirky designs by using it length-ways like a traditional liquid liner if you want… fun!

The one downside? It’s limited edition! You can pick this up now, as part of Clarins’ A/W 12 collection. It’s £20, but currently 15% off with free delivery at feelunique too!

  2. I know this is ignoring the point of the post completely but I love your eyeshadow :D x

  3. If it wasn't for the price I would get it in a heartbeat! Hopefully, cheaper brands will start making these soon. I've seen several brands doing these lately, but they've all been quite pricey.

  8. Really think it looks a bit daft in honesty. I'd use the dots to connect with a liner not to leave on their own. It looks like follicles that have no actual hairs in them yet. I understand it's more of an impact at a distance but the upclose look of it puts me off completely. Not necessarily the top lash, but definitely the lower lash

  9. at first I felt the dot thing was weird..
but now I see why...it's actually pretty cool!!!

  10. Wow intriguing idea! I was sceptical but it actually comes up on your eyes brilliantly with mascara on. Also I love that combo of eyeshadows you are wearing, you seem to wear it a fair bit. Have you done a tutorial on this look or could you do one if you haven't pretty please? It just looks so gorgeous!
    Thanks Fleur :)

  17. I've never seen anything like that before. It looks like it works really well. But i always go for winged eyeliner everyday so it wouldn't do much for me.

  23. From the feelunique description it seems you are suppose to use the pen to fill in the gaps between lashes as opposed to putting it above the lash line? I myself have blonde eyelashes and so always get annoying gaps between lashes. xxxxxx

seems cool, I didn't really understand how to use it, but thanks to you I get it. I might even pick it up soon!

  37. I've been tempted to try the Too Faced version of this, but have been resisting. Is this necessary if you're wearing eyeliner as well, or only if you're not?

  38. The eyeliner looks amazing. I am going to try it for sure. The kohl eyepencil from the fall collection is also great. It is like a much better version of MAC Feline. BTW I think you have some sort of eye allergy. Your eyes are red. Mine used to look the same and I thought that it is because of the computer but the eye doctor told me that this is an allergy.

  48. It does look really good with mascara. It reminds me of Laura Geller's tri tip brow marker though. Which I find interesting but kind of weird at the same time...its the same kind of tool aka the 3 points...but used for different purposes! hm!

  61. I was in Boots today and saw Bourjois have just released a 3 dot liner I think it was around £7.99 have yet to try it but it looks a good dupe for the Clarins ones.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think that you can achieve the same(ish) effect with a regular liner or a eyepencil. In my opinion it's not worth the money, even if quicker to apply. I would rather have a good liner/pencil which I could dot on if felt the need and not some expensive dotter which cannot serve the liner purpose. BW and much love !
